Our Mission Statement:

   A component of Huntsville and Walker County's shared heritage, the Oakwood Cemetery is valued as a resting place for figures of prominence in Texas history including Sam Houston. The Oakwood Cemetery is focused on educating and informing the public about those who are memorialized here. The Oakwood Cemetery intends to promote, preserve, maintain and rehabilitate the entirety of its grounds including; scenic surroundings, native wildlife, monuments, markers, architecture, and structures.
